It is 2011, manufacturing indexes getting downwards even in Moloch China. Europe is already in a small recession. But there is still hope for us! We are still in the product development business.!
This year we started with a new design for a sun tanning system for a successful Australian company, SunFX. hey deliver high-end tanning systems for western markets. You will get a fine nice color by using this machine!
Our first task is to redesign the professional high-end system, consisting of a tower and sprayer for in the saloons. We are still busy so we cannot reveal any details! Good news is the Aussies are quiet relaxed in their planning approach and enthusiastic to our idea's. Next year they are planning to develop together a home tanning system, so we are exited to start that aswell! update 2014 we are almost ready to make injection molded parts for them with mouldplastic
As the Australian economy is still strong, combined with a high australian dollar, we got also a lot of engineering and prototyping business from that side.
But now back to China, where we started our business and had some great opportunities.
( eg we developed for a SC Johnson's R&D center in Shanghai a totally new innovative dispenser.)

SEO
SEO stands for search engine optimisation.
The abbreviations means that when your customers search for a specific search term (keyword) in Google or another search engine you optimise your website to get toprankings. the higher your website will appear on the result list the more traffic will be genrated to your website.
In 2008 we did an investigation in SEO and opened a website specific for rapid prototyping by prototypingchina.com .
We learned that keywords, reciprocal linking to your site and a few other tricks will do the job for you. After summer 2008 we got top results with the following searches: rapid prototyping china, prototyping china (no 1) etc.
So we decided to repat the trick for our own website; c3.
With several generic search term like industrial design company we have top rankings, but still no top 3 rankings;
How does that come:
there is much more competition in the keywords area (the search term seperately get more hits)
eg: for rapid prototyping china there are total 260,000 results and for
china product design there are 30,400,000 results, so more difficult for us to get top results! And probaly other design companies ar emore aware of SEO than our competitors in the field of prototyping services.
in 2012 the game changed: we lost a lot of high rankings due to the fact that we had too much anchor links to our websites with the same keywords. So we also changed our game! please email me for our tricks! And it works we have new top 10 rankings for www.atoomdesign.com on industrial design consultancy and firms amongst others!

East meets West!
Symbolisch is er een brug geslagen tussen Nederland en China.
Voor het eerst op Materials Engineering is China ook vertegenwoordigd. Het bedrijf China Creative Company dat gespecialiseerd is in Productontwikkeling, Prototypingchina en Productie, is de allereerste Chinese onderneming dat deelneemt aan de Materials Engineering 2009.
Met de komst van Chinese bedrijven wordt de markt transparanter. Er ontstaan goede kansen om kennis te maken met deze markt en met hun cultuur, met als positief gevolg dat drempels verlaagd worden en internationale banden sterker. Bovendien is - juist in deze tijd van economisch recessie - dit dé gelegenheid om kosten te besparen door bijvoorbeeld te produceren in China.

Vist OF BODW in hong kong
11 december I visited the BODW; business of design week in Hong Kong. A fair where several product design firms showed their competences in their booths. My goal was to visit the fair to check it it could be interesting for our company to rent a booth.
Also there where 3 large Pavilions, the Dutch, the Israeli and the Barca pavillion, to promote ther designs.
In another hall there was an inspiration room and where several universities where represented;
The inspiration room was not that attractive at all, with some design price winners from Japan, china etc: for me a little inspiration: But as an old Audi driver, the Audi booth with a red racing R8 made my day!
Interesting was too see the real Olympic torch: the symbol that created some disturbances in France during it travel
to Beijing; The design is quite nice; old Chinese graphics combined in a modern shaped torch! Furthermore a black stylish vacuum-cleaner. Finally a cleaner that looks different and seems more suitable for men!
